Clear(er) air...

The recent Saharan dust and pollution from the European continent - born upon the UK by southerly winds - was largely replaced by clean air from the West today. Unfortunately, with that came a change in the weather. Still, that didn't stop Nic, Dolly (the dog), and I from taking a lengthy walk along the beach at Rye, East Sussex, as the Atlantic front began to roll in.

Typical black and white photography weather, I felt at the time. There isn't much to photograph in the way of sweeping vistas with such light, but there are a number of features on the beach itself that make suitable subjects to poke a lens at; the remains of these wooden groynes, for instance.
